Independent Domestic Violence/Abuse Advocate (IDVA)

Hours: Full time
Salary: £27,000 per annum

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
We will consider splitting the roles and offering part time positions where possible.
IDVA are required to have a full UK Drivers license and access to their own vehicle.

Local Solutions is excited to advertise 2 x new IDVA positions to provide specialist advocacy and support to women and men experiencing domestic abuse. We support individuals that have been assessed as High Risk of Serious Harm or Fatality.

We are looking for individuals with experience of working with people impacted by Domestic abuse. The successful applicants will have in-depth knowledge of DA. They will also need excellent communication and casework management skills.

IDVA work proactively within a multi-agency setting. The primary focus of their work will be to keep clients safe, providing options, choices, advocacy and supporting individuals to break the cycle of abuse and start their journey of recovery.

The successful applicant will work as part of a team of experienced IDVA where mutual support and shared practice is the norm.

This is a fast-paced role working with risk and as such we are seeking dynamic individuals who are skilled in crisis management.

We would particularly like to hear from applicants who have experience of supporting people with the following protected characteristics:

Elderly (55+)
Ethnic Minority Groups
Young People
The successful candidate will work at all times within the policies, procedures and ethos of Local Solutions. Local Solutions IDVA Service are fully committed to protecting, safeguarding, and promoting the welfare of vulnerable people and expects all staff, volunteers and partners to endorse this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure and two references will be requested.
