Night Support Worker, Homeground Hostel

LOCATION: Homeground Hostel, Scotland Road
HOURS: Full Time night shifts
SALARY: £21,000 per annum

Homeground requires Night Support Workers to provide support to homeless young people and adults accommodated within the hostel. You will provide high quality person centred support to homeless individuals and provide practical support to enable residents in routines and life skills.

As support is provided on a 24-hour rota, you would be expected to work a shift pattern of nights, on a 4-on 4-off pattern.

We are looking for someone:

  • To provide practical support in routines and life skills
  • To support residents to develop skills to live as independently as possible in their own homes
  • To carry out support tasks as described in the support plans 
  • To develop and maintain effective communication with residents to provide information, advice and guidance
  • who can identify and record risks and can cascade any known risks or concerns to relevant persons or agencies
  • To respond appropriately in a crisis situation
  • To communicate safeguarding issues to relevant bodies and statutory bodies where appropriate
  • To complete an effective handover with colleagues
  • To maintain the hostel to acceptable standards
  • To prepare areas for appropriate activities
  • To ensure Health and Safety of residents and staff
  • To ensure Safety an d security of the building
