Flintshire Floating Support

This service assists and supports young people, aged between 16-25 who are at risk of homelessness or who are homeless and who need support to manage their tenancy so that they can remain independent in their home.

Support provided is flexible, according to the each person’s situation.

Support Provided can Include:

  • Liaising with landlords
  • Liaising with Flintshire Council services including the housing gateway team, leaving care team etc.
  • Linking the young person in with other support services such as Citizens Advice Services, health and mental health services and substance misuse services, as appropriate
  • Support to access and maintain the benefits the young person is entitled to
  • Help with dealing with utility providers
  • Offering advice and support on managing and maintaining a tenancy
  • Support to access and sustain training and employment

The AIMS (Accommodation, Intense Mentoring, Skills) team supports young people aged 16-21 (extendable to 24 year olds) who are with leaving care services or who have experience of the care system. The team is made up of Trans-Disciplinary workers with experience in multiple fields who can take a flexible approach to meet changing needs and who have knowledge of the client group and the wider community.

5 young people supported by our AIMS service recently completed a 10 week learning and development course with Street Soccer Academy. They got a great chance to practice their football skills whilst learning vital life skills. The course was delivered in partnership with the LFC Foundation

We are currently looking for new Householders for our Supported Lodgings Services which support homeless young people.
