Retirement of CEO - Chairman's Statement

It is with mixed emotions that I let you know of the retirement from Local Solutions of our CEO, Steve. Whilst part of a planned process announced early this year, it is still only now sinking in for our board and staff that from January 1st, 2021 Steve will no longer be at the helm.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for 38 years’ service to Local Solutions and its previous embodiment, Merseyside Council for Voluntary Service.

He has, since 2006, been one of only three CEO’s in our history since incorporation in 1974.  Following on from David Shone and Malcolm Pearson, Steve has led us through an era of innovation during turbulent times. He has never strayed from our core mission to improve the lives of our vulnerable service users. He is proud to leave behind an outstanding group of colleagues at every level.

Meanwhile, Steve will be staying connected with us as a Consultant and he tells me that he fully intends to remain active in the life of our City making a contribution and serving where he can make a difference.

Our board have embarked on a plan to seek a successor and, in the coming months, further announcements will be made. The present structure of Directors will remain with Duncan Rennie (Finance & Resources) and Debbie Cooke (Operations) at the helm.

I am sure you will join me in wishing Steve health and happiness in the next phase of his journey.

Nigel Lanceley

Chairman
