Liverpool Watersports Centre will be undergoing a huge refurbishment over the winter. This will include significant external repairs and painting and refurbishment of the changing rooms and café.
Over the summer the team consulted with customers about proposed changes to the centre. Customers were hugely supportive of the plans to improve the accessibility of the centre and update the facilities.
The centre will be closed from 11th November until 1st March. Activities for groups and individuals are still available during this period but must be pre-booked by phone or email. The team are working closely with the clubs based at the centre, to minimise the disruption.
“We’re looking forward to starting the new season with a refurbished centre. The centre’s enjoyed by the whole community and these changes will mean that we can better serve our customers." Jon Hannaway, Manager, Liverpool Watersports Centre
Liverpool Watersports Centre operates with the aim of making watersports accessible to everyone. Last year, 16,000 people used the centre including many community and school groups.
The refurbishment is a joint project between Local Solutions, the charity who have operated the centre since it was built and Canal and River Trust which own the centre. The internal refurbishment has been funded by Sport England.
