Families from Plas Bellin visit Chester Zoo

Plas Bellin family trip to Chester Zoo

Families supported by our family hostel Plas Bellin were all treated to a fantastic day out to Chester Zoo. The trip was thanks to a generous donation from local builders merchant Dandy's Topsoil.

Plas Bellin Hall offers temporary supported accommodation for up to 23 families. Plas Bellin is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The support team, which consists of coordinators and support workers are responsible for providing coordinated support, including multi-agency working, to assist each service user in achieving outcomes identified from their individual support plans.

The donation from Dandy's Topsoil covered the entry fee for all residents and the hire of a coach to provide the return transport. Dandy's are a long standing supporter of Plas Bellin and we'd like to thank them again for their ongoing support for vulnerable families.

The trip to the zoo was much appreciated by the families. They were amazed by the many animals that they saw.One of them has told us it was the first time they had never done anything like it as a family before. To add to the excitement of the day, Chester Zoo provided them with a free ice-cream voucher each.
