A Householder, Lisa, and Young person, Leaninna, from Wirral Supported Lodgings were featured on BBC Radio Merseyside and spoke about their experiences with the project. Lisa spoke about what it is like to be a Householder as the program advertised the need for Householders in our projects across Merseyside and North Wales.
Lisa spoke about her experience being a Householder since 2014 and about the support and training available to Householders. She has supported 4 young people during this period.
That's the key, to be a genuinely caring person, you can come from any walk of life. Lisa, Householder
Leanina, aged 17, spoke about her experiences being a young person, living with a Householder and about her plans for the future.
My Householder Terri has been amazing and I've come on leaps and bounds since being there. She's supported me with clothes shopping, cooking and working out portion sizes. She's making me see the positives in life. Leanina, aged 17
Supported Lodgings Householders support a homeless young person in their home and provide practical and emotional support. They receive initial and ongoing training and are supported by our teams who work in each area.
We are currently recruiting Householders across Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley, Flintshire, Denbighshire and Conwy. We need people from a wide range of backgrounds and with diverse life experiences so that we can ensure we get the right 'match' of young people and Householder.
