Expanding and Improving Carers Breaks

To Provide guidance to commissioners and service providers the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) held a webinar to discuss how to expand and improve on breaks available to Carers. One of the presenters on the webinar was our very own Head of Carers Services, Hazel Brown. Hazel spoke about our innovative Mytime service.

Mytime aims to connect carers who could benefit from a break from their demanding caring roles, with businesses offering complimentary leisure, cultural and educational activities.

Hazel spoke about how when mytime first started it was one person working at a hotel that understood the need for carers to get some respite. Since then mytime has grown to support carers from across Liverpool to provide respite breaks donated from over 60 organisations, including hotels, restaurants, theaters, and many more.
