Are you a carer? Do you know a carer?
Drop in to our event to find out what support is on offer.
Carers Week is an annual campaign that aims to raise awareness of the challenges that carers face and recognise their hard work and the benefits to their families and communities.
6.5 million (1 in 8) people in the UK are carers providing support to a loved one because of their age, physical or mental illness or disability.
In Liverpool there are estimated to be over 50,000 carers. Liverpool Carers Centre, run by Local Solutions and commissioned to provide services by Liverpool City council, provides support to carers by delivering a range of services that aim to improve their quality of life. As well as undertaking carers assessments, Liverpool Carers Centre also offers a flexible support service that provides impartial advice, information and provides opportunities to improve wellbeing.
Every year we host an event for carers week, bringing support providers from across the city together. Carers and their families will have the opportunity to chat with the Liverpool Carers Centre staff, representatives from other organisations and meet with other carers.
Previously this event has been held in Williamson square, however, this year the event has moved to The Isla Gladstone Conservatory in Stanley Park.
The event will have fun activities for the family, pamper sessions, lots of information and advise, and health checks. There will also be a cake competition, judged by Flo from The Great British Bake Off.
