Mayor Joe Anderson visited Local Solutions today (10th April) to meet with staff and find out more about the services that we provide to communities in Liverpool.
Whilst here he met with out Chief Executive, Steve Hawkins, as well as representatives from some of our services.
Liverpool Carer's Centre - a support, information and advice service for Carers in Liverpool.
Mytime - an initiative that connects carers with businesses and organisations offering complimentary leisure, cultural and educational activities, aiming to provide carers with a break from their demanding role.
Worst Kept Secret - a confidential helpline for those affected by domestic abuse.
Resettlement Passport - a tenancy skills course designed to improve the skills and confidence of vulnerable people who are preparing to manage their own tenancies.
Bullybusters - a confidential helpline and advice service for people affected by bullying, as well as training and awareness sessions for young people, professionals and parents.
AIM's and other young persons services - programmes that offer support, accommodation, and training to vulnerable young people and give them the skills to begin and maintain independent work and tenancies.
The visit was used to showcase some the services that Local Solutions offer that are not commissioned from the council and that support the people of Liverpool. Many of these services were developed as a response to gaps in services that we have identified.
It was a positive visit that opened up a discussion about how the Mayor's office could help to support these services.
The Mayor was accompanied by Emily Fletcher from the Mayor’s team and two Politics Students on work experience with the team.
