In December 2018 we asked Homecare service users to give their feedback in a survey to find out more about their experiences, what the Homecare team does well and which areas they wanted the service to improve in. Homecare provide a wide range of support including domiciliary care to enable people to continue to live at home and access the community around them, they work across Merseyside so provide these services in Liverpool, St Helens, Sefton and Knowsley. The team received hugely positive feedback with a massive 95% rating the service as good or excellent!
This wasn't the only positive feedback that Homecare got; 81% said they would recommend the service to a friend, 97% said the care support workers treat them with dignity and 83% said the service has helped them to build up confidence in their own abilities.
Even with this positive feedback, Homecare continues their aim to improve the support they provide by listening to recommendations for improvement from their service users. Following feedback, the team have adapted the service to the needs of those that they support by reviewing care plans more frequently, improving the way service users can contact them by changing their phone system, appointing a new manager to support the out of hours call handlers and implementing a new system to monitor the amount of time staff stay during visits to ensure everyone gets the support they need.
