We received the accreditation on 31st January 2019, following an extensive process of site visits, evidence gathering, staff interviews and a final assessment. At Local Solutions, we believe that our workforce is our greatest asset, and this accreditation demonstrates our commitment to creating a culture that values health and wellbeing.
As part of the accreditation, we were assessed against a set of eight topic areas which ranged from leadership and absence management to physical activity and healthy eating. With this accreditation, we are proud to say that we are leading a healthy and happy workforce.
"I think it's helped us identity what we're doing well at, as well as where we can improve going forward because sometimes there's so many things out there that you can get a little bit lost, so it does make you focus a bit more. Going forward in the next 2 years we'll continue doing what we already do, but try to develop the recommendations given."
Ursula Harrison, Health and Safety Officer at Local Solutions
Local Solutions has been excelling in promoting physical activity among employees through regular lunchtime walks, badminton sessions and free Zumba classes.
The 2 year accreditation is assessed based on a set of national standards around three levels: Commitment; Achievement; and Excellence, each of which contains different standards that need to be attained.
