Liverpool Watersports Centre welcomes Housing associations

Liverpool Watersports Centre hosted an event for local housing associations to raise awareness of the opportunities on offer at the centre. The event was held in partnership with Fusion 21 and Canal and River Trust who took part in a presentation about the centre and discussion. The presentation was followed by lunch and the opportunity to try out the wheelchair accessible ‘Wheelyboat.’

The event was attended by representatives from Onward Homes, Riverside, First Ark and Steve Bikoh Housing. Many local housing associations have programs that support older tenants, people who are looking for employment, young people at risk and people who are socially isolated. The watersports centre has a long history of supporting people to improve their health and wellbeing, gain skills and confidence as well as enjoy the iconic waterspace. There was plenty of interest in these opportunities and discussions will continue.
