Work Preparation/Work Placement Programme
Aiming to assist clients with disabilities to gain experience of
work
This programme aims to assist clients with disabilities in
Merseyside and Cheshire to undertake work placements with
additional support in a variety of areas which will enable them to
move into (or back into) the work environment.
Placements are voluntary, with expenses paid, and can last up to
six weeks. They can be organised across a variety of
occupational areas and are designed to meet the individual needs of
clients. Hours can be part or full time, as required, or can
vary through the placement as the client builds up strength and
confidence.
Support sessions can include topics such as:
- Confidence Building
- Motivation Techniques
- CV Preparation
- Interview Techniques
- Benefits Advice
- Stress Management
- Assertiveness and Communication Skills
- Health and Disability Disclosure Advice
- Preparation for Work Placement
- Work Attitudes and Behaviour
- Strengths, Skills and Abilities
- Job Seeking and Employment Retention Skills
- Personal Presentation Skills
- Equal Opportunities
Work placements will build upon these areas and provide practical
experience, as well as giving a realistic measure of client’s
stamina, job readiness and suitability for work in their chosen
occupation.
