New Deal for Disabled People

What is New Deal for Disabled People (NDDP)?

The New Deal for Disabled People programme is designed to offer assistance to people wishing to return to work who receive a qualifying sickness or disability related benefit. The team offers a comprehensive job broking/advice service to support the client from an initial meeting through to securing employment with the aim of enhancing their confidence along the way. The team work hard to match job vacancies with the skills and potential of each client and over the last 12 months has helped 243 clients gain employment.

  • Ensure any move you make into work is as easy as possible and support you once you are working

 Key Features of the programme:

  • Participation is entirely voluntary – YOU decide
  • One-to-one confidential advice and support in a relaxed atmospheres
  • In-work benefit calculation: assessing the impact of work on your benefits and which benefits you may be able to claim when you start work
  • Quick and responsive service: we aim to see you at the earliest mutually convenient time and within a week of your contact with us
  • Ongoing support is available, even whilst you settle into your job 

You must be receiving one or more of the following to join the programme:

  • Incapacity Benefit
  • Severe Disablement Allowance
  • Income Support with Disability Premium
  • Housing or Council Tax benefit including a Disability Premium for yourself
  • Disability Living Allowance where it is paid in respect of yourself, you must not be receiving Jobseekers Allowance and must not be paid work unless it is less than 16 hours per week.
