The Carers Centre, based at Local Solutions HQ, was officially opened at the end of November 2006 by BBC Radio Merseyside presenter Roger Phillips.

The facility is the first of its kind in Liverpool dedicated to supporting unpaid carers and improving their health and wellbeing through flexible and supportive services.

Since the official opening, we have run various health related activities and training courses to improve the quality of life for carers.  These have included:

  • Stress management Coffee, Cake and Manicure Sessions, a perfect way to relax
  • Lifting and manual handling training
  • Welfare Rights advice surgeries
  • Counselling
  • Relaxation and holistic sessions
  • Coffee and manicure session
  • Tea Dance
  • Card Making Session

Courses and events will be held continuously throughout the year.

The centre has computer and Internet access for carers to access information and undergo training leading to qualifications. Organisations working with carers can also hire the centre, please phone for further details.Carers enjoy an afternoon tea dance at the centre
