What We Do
Outreach
Black and Ethnic Minority Communities
Local Solutions employs a specialist outreach worker who offers fortnightly welfare rights advice sessions, in the form of surgeries to meet the needs of individuals from black and ethnic minority communities. The worker, who is multi lingual, has the relevant language skills to assist clients whose first language is not English.
A whole range of advice is offered on issues including: welfare benefits, debt, housing, fuel.

Mental Health Service Users
People from all different backgrounds can suffer a mental breakdown and for many, this can result in them being admitted to hospital at short notice. This disruption in their lives can have a serious effect on their income - the person suffering may be the sole breadwinner, or perhaps a lone parent on benefits.
It is not conceivable for people with mental health problems to contemplate their financial affairs at such a distressing stage in their lives and this consequently results in debt issues, which can have a ‘knock on’ effect within the whole family.
To meet the needs of this particularly vulnerable client group, Local Solutions provide weekly advice sessions within the Broadoak Unit - a mental health in patient facility in Liverpool.
The Outreach service is ensuring that we provide accessibility to all sections of the community.
