What We Do
Educational/Training Support
A significant part of Homeground’s work involves training and education. Many of the young people accommodated at the hostel are still trying to overcome personal problems encountered through homelessness and have lost out to a great extent as regards their general education. The majority finished their statutory schooling without any formal qualifications.
The ethos of Homeground strongly promotes work, education and training for its clients and will provide a range of support services to assist young people access appropriate activity. Homeground also run a range of internal programmes and courses aimed to both educate, interest and stimulate clients.
Residents are given guidance and training in terms of personal skills development such as interview techniques and CV and letter writing.
Homeground liase effectively with a host of internal and external bodies to provide the best possible range of opportunities in training and education for the residents to access. There is also the Internet Job Service at the Local Solutions headquarters.
