NVQ Amenity Horticulture Level 2
Course Content:
The course aims to develop practical gardening skills and theoretical knowledge of plant production in a realistic working environment.
At the end of the course, the student will be able to cultivate and care for a wide variety of crops grown.
NVQ2 is suitable for people who would like to learn about plant production and care in order to start their own business or work in a nursery. This level can lead to Level 3 qualification in Horticulture.
What The Course Leads To:
Successful completion of NVQ2 can lead to employment opportunities in garden centres, garden maintenance and retail outlets.
Qualifications:
NVQ Production Horticulture Level 2
Entry Requirements:
No formal entry requirements for level 2 except a keen interest in gardening and need to be reasonably fit for this option. Learners will sit an initial assessment in English and Maths to make sure the course is suitable for them.
When The Course Runs:
The course runs for six hours per week, for 35 weeks or by individual arrangement if working in the industry.
Course Fees:
Learners may qualify for a fee reduction if receipt of means tested benefits.
