Training Initiatives
Local Solutions’ Training Department is the largest not-for-profit training agency within Merseyside and offers a wide range of training courses to people of all ages and abilities.
We operate an open access policy, actively encouraging individuals to learn and to take advantage of our training opportunities.

The nextstep service is free and offers face to face help and support regarding training, learning and the world of work to everyone - whether in employment or not.
People aged 20 or over who would like advice and guidance with respect to career matters can call into the Local Solutions headquarters for impartial information on options open to them. Each personal nextstep advisor will talk with you in confidence to help you plan your future by linking your personal interests and skills to a job or career.
Your advisor will also help you:
- understand the job market
- search and apply for jobs
- find funding to support any learning
- develop your CV
- improve your interview and presentation skills
- by suggesting ways to progress in your current job
You can use the nextstep service if you are:
- Aged 20 or over
- Aged 18 or 19 and have been referred to nextstep by Jobcentre Plus
