Young person from Supported Lodgings starts university

One of our Supported Lodgings service users, Graz Jocius, will be leaving on Sunday to start at Edge Hill University.

At age 13, Graz moved from Lithuania to the UK with his mum where he quickly settled down and made lots of friends.  When his mum went back to Lithuania to visit family Graz asked if he could stay here. His mother was reluctant but was confident he was in safe hands.  When it was time for her to come home, she found that she was unable to return to the UK so Graz was put in touch with social services who referred him to Liverpool Supported Lodgings back in November 2016.  Graz was accepted and went on to stay with one of our householders where he received lots of support and felt very happy.

Graz left school when he was 18 when he managed to get a job until he could start at university.  He is now going to study Media Film and TV – keep your eye out in future for his name in the credits of some of the films you watch.

Good Luck for the future Graz!
