Row, Row, Row your boat gently down the ...... dock!

Row, Row, Row your boat gently down the ...... dock!

Fancy rowing a boat around the most famous docklands in the world?  Well now you can!

From Thursday, 7th August,  Liverpool Watersports Centre will have rowing boats available to hire from the Salthouse Dock slipway in front of the iconic Albert Dock in Liverpool commencing at 1.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m.  Going forward, these boats will be available throughout the summer each Thursday through to Sunday between 12 noon and 6.00 pm (weather permitting).

These specially crafted multi-seated rowing boats from France will not only be a great addition to the Liverpool tourism industry, but also for the people of Merseyside to enjoy seeing their magnificent city from a new perspective.

This fantastic initiative was made possible through funding from Liverpool City Council’s Mayoral Fund, enabling us to animate Liverpool’s parks and docklands.

From Thursday, 14th August, the Sefton Park Lake will be brought back to life with the ‘echoes of yesteryear’ with rowing boats back on the lake for the first-time in a generation. Again, boats will be operational throughout the summer from 12 noon until 6.00 p.m. each Thursday through to Sunday.

Local Solutions Chief Executive said “It seems such an obvious thing to say, but this maritime city of ours has a deeply special relationship with water.  For the last 30 years Local Solutions has invested innovation and resources into connecting people with our water courses opening up opportunities to sail windsurf swim and even power boat.  We are delighted that this vision is shared by our Local Authority”.

Tell your family and friends about the rowing boats and we look forward to seeing you on the boats or at our Liverpool Watersports Centre very soon.
