National Carers Week is approaching and Liverpool Carers are encouraged to attend the Carers Information and Consultation Day organised by Local Solutions on the 15th June 2004. Held at the Moat House Hotel in Liverpool City Centre from 11.00am – 3.00pm, the Lord Mayor of Liverpool will officially open the event at 11.00am and will be available for a short time after wards to meet with carers.
Anyone who is caring for a relative, friend or neighbour in Liverpool is invited to attend the day and enjoy free demonstrations, consultations, fun activities, refreshments and a free raffle arranged by caring professionals.
Katherine French, Carers Development Officer for the Carers Project at the Merseyside Charity Local Solutions is co-ordinating the event this year, and hopes people will come and see the range of support and assistance carers are entitled to.
Katherine comments, “The event has proved such a success in previous years with more carers attending, we hoping as many carers as possible will come and see us. As a group in society, carers are often forgotten and we hope the event will ensure that carer’s needs are highlighted and taken into account. The event is an opportunity for carers to talk to others in a similar situation and to get information and advice from caring professional about what help is available to them.” For more information regarding the event, please contact Katherine French on 0151 705 2421.
