A new project managed by Local Solutions, the ‘Bully Busters’ Anti Bullying Helpline was launched at the beginning of September to provide support for victims of bullying and their families.
Set up in collaboration between the Liverpool Echo, Greater Merseyside Local Education Authorities (LEA’s), Safer Merseyside Partnership and TUC, the free helpline has already received over 300 calls.
A team of specially trained staff operate the confidential telephone hotline and take calls from victims, parents or from people with information about bullying of children. As well as acting as a listening service, the team provides practical advice and can act as a referral agency.
A website for Bully Busters is currently being developed and details of the new site will be published here.
