The official launch of the 2004/2005 Liverpool Carers Strategy from Liverpool City Council (LCC) will take place on Monday 8th November 2004 at The Holiday Inn, Liverpool City Centre, between 10.00 am and 1.00 pm.
The ‘Liverpool’s Supporting Carers' Strategy 2004-05’ sets out the Council’s priorities for improving support for carers and has been developed through working closely with carers, representatives of carers' organisations and key partners in health. Some of the priority areas covered in the Strategy include:
- To ensure that information, advice and support provided for carers is effective, appropriate, flexible and inclusive for all carers.
- To improve Short Break services for disabled adults and children.
- To improving the health of carers.
- To ensure that the needs of carers from black and minority ethnic communities are met.

All those attending will be able to take away a copy of the document and have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers from Liverpool City Council. One of the key speakers will be Tony Hunter, Executive Director of the Supported Living and Community Safety Portfolio, who will be speaking about the Strategy and the continued commitment from the city to carers.
