Are you looking after someone with a mental health problem?
Local Solutions Carers Project has expanded their services with the new appointments of two Mental Health Carers Development Workers. The posts, funded by Liverpool City Council, will further enhance the work in Merseyside and will offer support and advice for carers who look after loved ones with mental health problems.
The posts cover the whole of Liverpool and the workers will act as a point of reference and refer people to the correct agencies / services throughout Merseyside and offer people, information, advice, 1-1 support, advice on benefits, and access to the carers emergency card and newsletter.
Hazel Brown, Carers Project Team Leader comments, “Statistics from the World Health Organisation indicate that mental health problems are set to increase by the year 2020. We are delighted to be working closely with Liverpool City Council in playing a vital role in addressing mental health issues in Liverpool.”
