On Thursday 17th June 2004, Local Solutions celebrated its 30th anniversary at the prestigious Knowsley Hall, home to the Rt. Hon. Earl of Derby.  Executive Committee members, staff, volunteers and service users were amongst those present to recognise the achievements the organisation, which has grown substantially over the last three decades.

Local Solutions Chairman, David Mathieson greeted guests, along with Chief Executive, Malcolm Pearson and Assistant Chief Executives Pat Devlin and Stephen Hawkins. Former Chairman of Local Solutions, The Lord Alton of Liverpool presented the Executive Committee with awards in recognition for their service and commitment to the organisation.

Certificates and gifts were also presented to a number of staff and dedicated volunteers who have served the organisation for 15 years and more.  In presenting the awards, Malcolm Pearson, Chief Executive stated his appreciation and said, “This stately home, Knowsley Hall, is the ideal setting for our organisation to celebrate such a milestone and I feel sure that that the next 30 years will be as challenging and rewarding in helping all those disadvantaged groups that we serve.”

A number of additional events will be taking place to mark the organisation’s 30th anniversary, which will be reported on this site at a later date.

The Communications Department is in the process of compiling a history brochure detailing the organisation’s key achievements over the past 30 years, which will be available in August.
