Knowsley Supported Lodgings enjoys residential trip to Anglesey
Knowsley Supported Lodgings residential to Anglesey
Ten young people from Knowsley Supported Lodgings
(KSL) have recently returned from a three day residential trip to Anglesey. The young people took part in a range of
outdoor activities, as well as shopping and cooking for the group.
Challenges included mountain biking near Betws-y-Coed, sea kayaking and visiting the South Stack lighthouse via its 441 steps! A particular highlight for the group was their first taste of coasteering which involves a mix of climbing along rocks on the coastline and jumping into the sea and swimming.
The residential was funded through fundraising
activities by KSL’s Householders, including a recent bag packing event at
Iceland in Old Swan. Each of the young
people also made a contribution towards their costs.
The trip was a great opportunity for the young
people and staff to stretch themselves, conquer their fears and provide support
and encouragement to their peers. Below
is some feedback from two of the young people:
loved the kayaking. As I see it, no pain
enjoyed the mountain biking, it was nice to go on bikes on the hills”
Knowsley Supported Lodgings would like to thank
their Householders and other supporters for their fundraising efforts that made
this residential trip possible.
