Hugely Positive Feedback of our Carers Event 2016

Hugely Positive Feedback of our Carers Event 2016

To celebrate National Carers Week, which runs from 8th to 12th June 2015, our Liverpool Carers Centre team, once again ran their popular Carer information event.

This year saw us moving from our usual location of           St. George’s Hall to bring it closer to the community with a huge outdoor event on the 9th June in Williamson Square, in the heart of Liverpool City Centre.

This year's Carers Week theme is "Building Carer Friendly Communities"

The Rt. Worshipful, The Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Roz Gladden , officially opened the event with a speech in the historic Liverpool Playhouse Theatre overlooking our Carers Event Marque.

The occasion always offers carers a chance to access support and information from a whole host of agencies exhibited on the day. These include charities and community organisations, health and social care organisations, statutory agencies, police, housing providers, lawyers and financial inclusion agencies.

This year we booked various organisations and individuals to showcase their activities to carers attending on the day and to the general public. These proved very popular with the attendees. Exhibitors included Everton Nursery School Choir, Liverpool Astronomical Society,  Liverpool FC Foundation, National Wildflower Centre, Lush, Table Tennis, Singers, Hanging Basket Workshops plus many more.

Special thanks to all the companies, charities and individuals who donated prizes from the raffle or provided free items for our activities such as Mark and Paul from B&Q Edge Lane store who provided items for our hanging basket workshops.
