High Sheriff of Merseyside visits Local Solutions

Abila Pointing, the High Sheriff of Merseyside, visited Local Solutions on 27th January.

The High Sheriff spent time meeting staff and service users from various projects, including Liverpool Carers Centre, Shopmobility, Domestic Abuse Support Services, Homelessness provision and our Anti-Bullying initiatives. The visit concluded at our Watersports Centre in Queen's Dock.

The Digital hub is a 6-8 week course using a programme called “Learn My Way” and is suitable for all carers looking to start their journey to becoming digitally included, whether they have little or no knowledge of computers or the internet.

Rebecca Kimmance, Deputy Operational Manager at Liverpool Carers Centre, commented “It was interesting to hear the High Sheriff explain the background of her role and how it has evolved throughout the ages. She was very keen to learn more about our work at Local Solutions and we were delighted to welcome her.”
