Could you support a young person in your home?

Could you support a young person in your home?

We are currently looking for new Householders for our Supported Lodgings Services which support homeless young people.  ‘Householders’ are families, couples or individuals, who rent a bedroom within their home to a young homeless person, and provide both practical and emotional support. Young people are matched to Householders, taking into account factors including geographical location of the home, personality types, family composition, gender etc.

Supported Lodgings provides an alternative for homeless young people from going into a hostel and the outcomes of young people supported through these projects are excellent.

Householders receive regular support and training and a weekly payment towards to the costs of accommodating the young person.

We ask our Householder to provide
- Practical support to develop skills like budgeting, cooking, cleaning
- emotional support and make efforts to help a young person to feel safe and secure
- Provision of a furnished room and 2 meals a day
- Regular communication and meetings with the young person’s keyworker

We are currently looking for Householders in:

Merseyside – Wirral, Liverpool, Sefton and Knowsley

North Wales – Flintshire, Denbighshire and Conwy

If you are interested in finding out more, please contact the service in your area.   The assessment process of becoming a Householder includes DBS checks, references and an assessment with one of the Supported Lodgings’ managers.
