On Thursday 8th August, unpaid Carers are invited to join Local Solutions at the Museum of Liverpool (Pier Head) on a tour of the Mi Smart House, so called as every room is kitted out with gadgets.
Emma Cornmell and Jodie Mee, from Local Solutions Carers Centre, work with Mi
to promote use of and access to ‘Life Enhancing Technologies’ which can help
people around the home to live independently and give peace of mind to Carers
Examples of the equipment include:
A fall detector which alerts a 24 hour helpline monitoring centre of a fall
A bogus caller panic button which, when pressed discreetly, alerts a 24 hour helpline monitoring centre
A voice prompt, which can be located near your front door with a pre recorded message of your choice to provide you of essential reminders
A key locator, which comprises of four sensor key rings, which you can attach to your keys, purse and even your specs!....when you press the transmitter button the missing item beeps until you find it. The transmitter beeps until you place it back in its cradle to help you not to lose that too!
This technology is designed to help everyday living
whether you have a specific health need e.g. poor mobility, dementia, or
whether you just want to make things that little bit easier!
