Annette Hennesy visits Local Solutions

Local Solutions was pleased to welcome Annette Hennessy, Chief Executive of Merseyside Probation Trust this morning for a tour of our services.

The tour was an opportunity for Annette to learn more about the wide range of services provided by Local Solutions to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged people in the North West and North Wales.

Annette was particularly interested in our vulnerable person’s projects based at our Scotland Road site, which support some of the most at risk client groups such as young homeless people and people affected by bullying and domestic violence.

One project of particular interest was our Intensive Support Mentoring Programme which supports young homeless people with complex needs to break from their negative cycle to lead a more stable lifestyle, including healthy relationships, permanent accommodation as well as securing employment or training.

Annette was also impressed with the range of watersports activities at our Liverpool Watersports Centre based at the Queen’s Dock which are available to disadvantaged groups, including young people from inner city schools and disadvantaged youths including those in or at risk of entering the criminal justice system.

Our Chief Executive Steve Hawkins commented - We have long enjoyed a close relationship with the Merseyside Probation Trust – Annette’s arrival as a new chief will give us an opportunity to builed on this and create a shared narrative that help us improve the lives of so many people in our communities.
