Local Solutions welcomes Cobalt Housing
Local Solutions was delighted to welcome representatives from Cobalt Housing for a tour of its services today.
Senior Executives Alan Langan and Rachael Wright were guided by Chief Executive Steve Hawkins around the many sites of Local Solutions.
First port of call was the Liverpool Carers Centre to learn of how the city's unpaid carers are provided with activities and support to help ease the pressure of their caring roles. The group then went on to meet staff and hear of the work done by services such as Welfare Rights, Keep Safe & Warm, Worst Kept Secret, Bullybusters and homelessness.
The next trip was to Shopmobility in Liverpool One, which provides an important service to the city’s residents who have mobility restrictions. The store has several powered scooters and wheelchairs, enabling easy access to Liverpool’s shops and sights. More recently the Shopmoblity opened a second base in St. John's Centre.
Final stop was the Liverpool Watersports Centre at Queens Dock which runs activities such as sailing, windsurfing and canoeing for the whole community and young excluded people.
Cobalt Housing is part of the Symphony Housing Group and has over 5,000 homes for rent in North-East Liverpool in areas such as Norris Green, Gillmoss, Croxteth and Fazakerley.
Local Solutions hopes that its service users as well as residents of Cobalt Housing may have a lot to benefit from some joint initiatives.
