Domestic violence projects receive thoughtful gifts

Our Domestic Violence services were in receipt of beautifully wrapped parcels filled with toiletries, chocolates, and a range of essential women’s products in the week running up to Christmas.

The parcels were donated by the Women’s Regional Committee of the Communication Workers Trade Union who made contact with Local Solutions when the police recommended our services to them. Some of the parcels were distributed to service users as gifts for the festive period; others will be given as an emergency kit for vulnerable women fleeing their homes. 

Our Domestic Violence services often support women who may have left a violent situation suddenly – as a result, the only items they possess are the clothes that they are wearing. Therefore these parcels are a welcome comfort for women in such crisis circumstances.  Sincere gratitude is sent on behalf of staff and service users of Local Solutions' domestic violence services to the Committee for their thoughtful gifts.
