Areas highlighted included the range of services of support from Homecare, Liverpool Carers Centre and our work with long term unemployed.

The students then took a tour of our Scotland Road base to learn about our work with young homeless, victims of domestic violence and bullying. Lunch was provided by the Liverpool Watersports Centre the group were delighted to see the city’s famous waterfront and were impressed by the range of activities provided by the Centre for the whole community particularly young excluded people.

The day was rounded off with some general sightseeing of the city including the new Museum of Liverpool, the two cathedrals, the Albert Dock and Liverpool One.

Chief Executive, Steve Hawkins commented: “It was an honour and joy to welcome the students to Liverpool and to showcase our organisation to them. I hope they will have taken away a greater understanding of the issues and challenges social enterprises can face and that we have provided them with a useful insight into the work of a successful charity.”
