Shirley Croxton, who is currently studying for her 7318 Teacher Training Certificate within the Training Department, ran a successful Holistic Therapy Course for staff and students from Local Solutions in November, as part of her training course. A qualified Masseuse and Aromatherapist by profession, Shirley joined the training course last year after realising she wanted to be able to teach people about massage techniques and how to use essential oils.

The six-hour course gave participants the opportunity to learn about preparing a client for treatment, the basics of Swedish and Indian Head Massage and the people on the course had the chance to apply the techniques used on each other. Shirley thoroughly enjoyed the day, which enabled her to gain more experience and confidence to progress into her chosen career.
