Trust founder welcomed

Local Solutions was pleased to welcome Peter Johnson for a tour of the organisation on 10th November to learn of its many services and projects.

Mr Johnson is the founder of the Johnson Foundation which promotes any charitable purposes and in particular the advancement of education, preservation and protection of health, and relief of poverty and sicknesses.

The Foundation has generously donated towards some of Local Solutions’ projects in the past, namely Mobex (outdoor pursuits), Worst Kept Secret (domestic violence support) and Bullybusters (anti bullying service).

On the tour, Peter learnt about different projects within the organisation and was first met by Chief Executive, Steve Hawkins, who then took him to meet services users and staff of the Liverpool Carers Centre and also the Liverpool Watersports Centre at Queens Dock.

The Watersports Centre offers a variety of services to the whole community whilst specifically targeting excluded groups including offenders or those at risk of offending. The services offered include training in canoeing, windsurfing, powerboat handling and sailing.
