Children welcome four legged friends

Youngsters at the University of Liverpool Children’s Centre (ULCC) had a far from dull Monday this week when they received some surprise but very welcome guests to the Centre.

Animals (and staff!) from the Acorn Farm in Kirkby called in to meet the Centre’s Pre-School class. The visitors included chicks, ducks, a rabbit, a guinea pig, sheep and goats who were all housed in the Centre’s play area where children learnt of the animal’s dietary and lifestyle needs.

Acorn Farm began in 1985 and is a popular tourist attraction for families on Merseyside. Nominated for ‘Best Small Visitor Attraction’ nine years running by prestigious The Mersey Partnership Awards, the farm finally won the coveted award last year.
