A group of young people from Homeground and MAP visited the BBC Bus when it was parked outside Merseysport (the Watersports Centre) based in Queens Dock Liverpool, last week. Our MOBEX project also arranged for two Liverpool Schools (New Heys Comprehensive and Alsop High) to take part in the hourly educational sessions.
The BBC Bus is certainly is no ordinary vehicle as it has state of the art technology on board including, a radio studio, digital equipment, cameras, camcorders, computers and internet access . A number of qualified tutors were on board to assist the young people with the equipment and enable them to gain knowledge in a range of multi-media skills.
Community Sector Manager, David Ellis, who organised the day, commented “those groups taking part in the hourly sessions, thoroughly enjoyed themselves and benefited from learning many new skills”.
