Class of 2010 Graduate!

There was a mix of emotions at The University of Liverpool Children’s Centre today as 13 youngsters 'graduated' prior to entering into ‘big school’ in September.

It is one of the Centre’s highlights of the year with a special day being had by children and parents alike. The day began with a graduation ceremony where the little ones (donning cap and gown) each received medals, certificates and a memory book.

The group then (rather reluctantly!) performed a song for admiring family members and also announced their desired future career paths. ‘Occupations’ such as a fairy, a princess and even a fish were most coveted!

The momentous day was rounded off with a party for children from all classes and commemorative photographs for emotional parents to treasure.

Centre manager, Jean Graham, commented: “This is always a poignant occasion for myself and the staff here but ultimately it is a day filled with pride.

"We know we have enabled our young ones to start their school lives as happy, well-rounded, confident pupils. It has been a privilege to care for them and we all wish each of them a happy and healthy future.”
