Carers Consultation Event
Liverpool Carers Centre held an event this week to enable carers from across the city to have their say about the services and support they receive.
The day saw a great turnout with 25 carers in attendance who were able to benefit from complementary therapy taster sessions such as hand massages and Reiki.
The event was arranged as part of the consultation that the Carers Project has been asked to undertake on behalf of Liverpool City Council.
Results of the consultation will be used when a plan for services is developed by Liverpool City Council’s Carers Joint Commissioning Group.
Jane Weller, the City Council’s lead officer for carers, was at the event to meet with carers and hear their views first hand.
One carer commented on the day saying: “It is always good for carers to talk to each other and shared experiences reduce the feeling of isolation”.
