Chief Fire Officer Visits Local Solutions

Local Solutions was delighted to welcome a visit from the Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service’s Chief Fire Officer, Tony McGuirk.

Mr McGuirk began his tour with a visit to the organisation’s Scotland Road site which houses numerous services aimed at helping vulnerable people and young people on the fringes of the criminal justice system.

He then went on to visit Sefton Waterworks which is a project that Local Solutions is currently working on in conjunction with Liverpool Biennial to deliver watersports in the Sefton area.  The project will form part of the regeneration of the Leeds/Liverpool Canal area and will see Local Solutions delivering watersports activities to the Sefton community, with a particular focus on engaging young people and groups from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The visit concluded with a tour of Merseysport which is a watersports centre based near to the Albert Dock offering canoeing, windsurfing and sailing to the whole community.
