World Book Day Celebrated at Children's Centre

Thursday 5^th March marked this year’s World Book Day (WBD) and children at The University of Liverpool Children's Centre took delight in participating.

WBD was designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and is marked in over 100 countries around the globe. Its main aim is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own.

Children at the centre listened to several stories being read aloud and were encouraged to attend on the day wearing an outfit representing their favourite character from a book - judging from these photographs they were more than happy to comply!
