Pilot Telecare Home Response Service Gets Extended
Local Solutions is delighted to have had its Telecare Home Response Service contract with Liverpool City Council extended.
The service, which provides care and support for vulnerable and older people in Liverpool, began in November 2008 and as a pilot scheme was scheduled for review at the start of this year. Due to the success of the service and demand for it, it will now be provided until October 2009 (when it will again be reviewed for a possible further extension).
Working in conjunction with Liverpool City Council (LCC), the Telecare Home Response Service provides assistance to people in their own homes that need care and is available 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
The response service supports older people, those living with dementia, people recently discharged from hospital, people at risk of falling and people with medical conditions such as diabetes and epilepsy.
Local Solutions are proud to provide this invaluable service as they believe it has numerous positive effects on people’s lives such as enabling independent living - reducing the need for residential/nursing care.
It also reduces the number of hospital admissions, increases security in a non-intrusive manner and supports people’s feeling of coping.
