New Telecare home Response Service

Local Solutions is delighted to have secured a contract to provide a Telecare Home Response Service for older and vulnerable people living within Liverpool.

Working in conjunction with Liverpool City Council (LCC), the Telecare Home Response Service will provide assistance to people in their own homes that need care which will be available 24 hours a day, seven days per week.  

The pilot response service will support and aid older people, those living with dementia, people recently discharged from hospital, people at risk of falling and people with medical conditions such as diabetes and epilepsy.

Councillor Ron Gould, Executive Member for Health, Care and Safeguarding at LCC said: “One of the biggest fears elderly people have about getting old is being uprooted and moved into a care home. The aim of Telecare is to give people help and support to live in their own homes for as long as possible. By linking up with Local Solutions, we are now able to provide the service to people who don’t have a relative or friend living nearby to pop round when there’s a problem.”

Local Solutions are proud to provide the Telecare Home Response Service as they believe it will have numerous positive effects on people’s lives such as enabling independent living - reducing the need for residential/nursing care. It will also reduce the number of hospital admissions, help those who wish to die at home do so with dignity, increase security in a non-intrusive manner and support people’s feeling of coping all of which is in addition to several other benefits.
