Children's Centre Acquires Kiddy Bus

Children road test their new 'Turtle Kiddy Bus'. Thanks to a grant from the BBC Radio Merseyside Charitable Trust, The University of Liverpool Children’s Centre will benefit from a ‘Turtle Kiddy Bus’!

The ‘Turtle Kiddy Bus’ can accommodate six young children, supervised by just two staff members, which means children and staff can now enjoy more trips to local parks and places of interest, such as museums and the two nearby cathedrals.

In the event of an evacuation, the buggy can safely take up to eight children out of the building which enhances health & safety at the centre. This is achieved by the simple addition of a plate between the two front rows of seats.

Jean Graham, Nursery Manager, commented, "Staff and children would like to say a big thank you to BBC Radio Merseyside for enabling us to purchase the Kiddy Bus. Not only will the children benefit from additional trips out, they will also gain experience covering the six areas of learning under the Foundation Framework Birth to Five  agenda."
