Australian Visit

On 2^nd May Local Solutions were pleased to welcome Rosemary Warmington on a visit to Liverpool Carers Centre. Rosemary, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Carers Association in South Australia, came to look at ‘good practice’ in supporting carers in Liverpool.  The visit was just one of many sto ps she made on her worldwide tour.

Sessions available for carers at the carers centre include Tai Chi, Reiki, training courses in personal safety and first aid.  These activities allow carers to have the chance to be themselves and to develop their self identity, reduce stress levels and relieve isolation.  She was interested in the partnership working between the statutory and third sector to support carers. 

Rosemary commented on how valuable the visit has been in enabling her to learn more about how the resource is helping hundreds of carers and improving their confidence and self esteem.
