Duchy of Lancaster Trustees Visit

On 13^th June, Local Solutions welcomed a visit from Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside, Dame Lorna Muirhead, who is the organisation’s president.  Dame Lorna, accompanied by the Trustees of the Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund, came to view the Carers Centre, which has benefited from a generous grant towards carers activities including Reiki, Tai Chi, Arts and Crafts, manicures and tea dances. 

The party were formally welcomed by Local Solution’s Chair, Robert Owen and Chief Executive Stephen Hawkins.  The group then went on to hear from Carers Project Manager, Hazel Brown, who gave an overview of the work undertaken at the centre.  Hazel thanked the trustees for their generous support towards the programme of activities, which is helping to improve the health and wellbeing of carers. The group then interacted with both carers and support staff to gain a further insight into how valuable this resource is proving to be for carers.
